Thinking about the meaning

I’ve struggled to give this a lot of thought, lately.  As per my last blog, Christmas seems quite a mystery.  What is this stigma attached to a birth already proven to be at a different time of year?  The celebration was changed to accommodate the planting season.  Does anybody REALLY care?

The Single Gift

I love my kids, for sure.  But I'm not the type, usually, to get all sappy about it.  Perhaps it's a "guy" trait.  I won't presume to debate that.  But I have to tell you that I recently had my heart warmed by circumstances, quite unexepected.  And I think the heart is the only part that's warm, in this weather.

A Newborn in a Pear Tree

Kids say the wrongest things

It's amazing how vulnerable a grown adult can be made to feel.  The other day we were ALL visiting a friend, a female friend, for dinner.  Afterwards my kids were terrorizing her cat, searching the bottom of a gallon of milk for the free toy, and checking to see how many of her expensive pieces of art would interlock.  I must admit it looked a lot like a transformer when they were done.

George Carlin used to talk about stuff.  Where to put your stuff.  How to deal with someone else's stuff when you begin dating.  What stuff is important and what stuff should take a discovery adventure journey to the local landfill.  I'm not sure, but if memory serves, George may have called it by a different name.

Unidentifiable Substances

Any woman running a household can understand the importance of getting things done in an orderly fashion.  Procrastination is just not an option, because some things are perpetual - like laundry.  If you put it off until tomorrow, no one will ever be able to find you in the pile.
